This 9 acre natural feed water is located above the Village of Howwood, surrounded with spectacular scenic views and countryside. Due to the location and the natural burn feeding the dry fly in the summer months is exceptional with exceptional catches being caught.
The water has a maximum depth of 16 feet at the Dam wall, but the average depth is about 8 feet with very shallow banking around the majority of the water.
The most common type of fly line used at the fishery is Floating and Intermediate due to the depth of the water. There are 3 boats available but advance booking is advised due to the great demand for them. To book a boat please phone and ask a member of staff for availability.
There is a boating lodge where you can have a hot or cold drink, flies, buy tackle ranging from line, rods, reels, etc or get some advice on what fly has been catching fish over the previous days.
The fishery is well stocked (every 2 to 3 days) with grade "A" fish as well as a new head of double figured fish being stocked all over the summer months. There is Wild Brown and Blue Trout from 2lbs upwards that will give any angler a good scrap.
